This is a rare rock crystal Quartz Butterfly bannerstone that is only partially completed. There is no perforation and there are signs of pecking on the surface filled with a light brown patina. One edge is chipped exposing the bright translucent crystal. This bannerstone is one of twenty-nine archaeological objects found in the area of Plantersville and donated by Dr. Ben H. Broadnax who was a physician specializing in treating burns caused by expanding railroad work. Plantersville La Brodnax is written on the stone.
